Spring Seed Starting

I started my first seeds today, 24 cells of petunias under grow lights and with a heating mat underneath.  Given the weather we've been having, I'm probably on the late side, but you never know in Maine.

Quite a few of my crocuses are out and blooming very nicely.  I have two lonely snowdrops out, but the daffodils, tulips, and irises (along with other minor bulbs) are up to about an inch high.

I've removed almost all of the leaf mulch around the plants (except my butterfly bush and summer sweet), since I don't want any rot setting in, given the warm days we've been having.

The ground in my raised bed is still frozen, so there'll be no planting peas for a while.

The best thing:  I've put away the snow blower and taken out the garden gear!
